Batik Air halts flights to India, Pakistan amid escalating conflict
Batik Air, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s largest low cost airline Lion Air, has temporarily suspended its flights to and from Pakistan’s Lahore and India’s Amritsar on Wednesday and Thursday amid recent escalating conflicts between the two countries.

atik Air, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s largest low-cost airline Lion Air, has temporarily suspended its flights to and from Pakistan’s Lahore and India’s Amritsar on Wednesday and Thursday amid recent escalating conflicts between the two countries.
“This decision was made in response to the current situation in Pakistan and India, which has led to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace and [a number of airports],” said Lion Air’s corporate communication strategic Danang Mandala Prihantoro on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Four affected flights include OD-131, operating from Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur to Lahore, scheduled to depart at 5:35 a.m. local time on May 7 and 8, and its return leg, OD-132, from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur, scheduled to depart at approximately 9:35 a.m. local time on the same days.
The remaining two affected flights are OD-271 from Kuala Lumpur to Amritsar and its return leg, OD-272, both scheduled to depart on May 7.
According to Danang, Batik Air will continue to provide updates through its official channels as the situation evolves. Affected passengers will be offered rescheduling options in line with the airline’s policy.
Batik Air is one of several international carriers forced to alter flight routes. Services to and from northern Pakistani and Indian cities—including Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot and Amritsar—have even been canceled entirely.
According to global flight tracking service FlightRadar24, 52 flights to and from Pakistan had been canceled as of Wednesday morning. These include flights operated by Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways and Flydubai.
